That selection does not even take into account TV shows like Secret Invasion, Loki season 2, and Ironheart, which are just a sample of the shows slated for a release in the immediate future. Even if the franchise is not exactly on an upswing at the moment, Disney and Marvel are showing no signs of slowing down, with The Marvels, Captain America: New World Order, Thunderbolts, Blade, and Deadpool 3 all set to drop by the end of 2024.

Updated by Mark Sammut: The Marvel Cinematic Universe's phase five is underway, and it has gotten off to an uneven start. RELATED: Marvel's Avengers: Annoying Details You'll Only Notice At The End Which are the best Marvel movies of all time? Which are the worst MCU movies? Which films rank somewhere in the middle? However, across 30+ releases, some MCU projects have fared a lot better with critics than others. There’s yet to be an entry in the MCU that’s as universally mocked and maligned as Batman & Robin, a Green Lantern, or an Amazing Spider-Man 2. But the numbers don’t lie whether they’re “cinema” or not, these movies are speaking to a lot of people. Everyone from Martin Scorsese to PewDiePie has spoken out against the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s formula-based storytelling and financially motivated strategy. When they considered rebooting Point Break, they should have taken that same stance and just didnt. While Marvel’s takeover of the film industry has been mostly facilitated by more-than-willing moviegoers, it hasn’t been without its detractors. It would be akin to rebooting Terminator 2. But in order to like this it's almost necessary to have never seen the original because the original is a good film from an era where films were just better. It's not like a SYFY original or anything. The story is pretty clear and it's not any different than the original. I think they are just wanting to complain. A lot of reviews here jump right to comparing it to the original and claims of there being no story. To add insult to injury, the scenes run with certain verbatim to the original but always with a fresh turd twist to it to make it run a little more like a mountain dew commercial than a film to be taken seriously. And that's just one of the ridiculous adrenaline junkie things they do here first try with masterful perfection.

I mean, a random trip to Angel Falls to fly up free solo with zero preparation? Expert climbers can't do that even if they weren't free soloing it and they both just storm right up it like it was in their back yard their whole lives. But there comes a point when extreme is too extreme and suspension of disbelief can no longer be held. This movie wouldn't receive half the scrutiny if they just called it something else because Point Break it is NOT! As a film, it's hugely impossible but no more so than any James Bond film.

But that is one plus point on a terrible and needless reboot. I got to give it credit, all thought they are totally not needed for this story, the in camera stunts are impressive. Plus you know after the video dropped of the stolen diamonds raining down on a poor African country the Government would be taking those diamonds back at gun point and shooting everyone.

The last thing the audience would want is a wagging finger of shame because of the problems of poor countries. Bodhi and his crew only robbed banks because they saw "Endless Summer" way too often and wanted to keep their lazy lifestyle of surfing the world going without a day job. His friend dies by accident during a stunt so his next step is join the FBI? WTF! Also the last thing a Point Break movie needs is social commentary about the wealth divide. First of all, Johnny was not some extreme stunt guy, he was a college football star. Adding more stunts isn't adding something new or improving a near flawless movie at all. A good reboot improves or adds something the original was missing.
